Default My blood work for Testosterone

Hi guys

I got my results today.

Serum Testosterone: 22.1 nmol /L (8.0 - 30.0 )

SHBG: 36nmol / L (15 - 70)

Free Androgen Index (TE/SHBG ratio): 61.4%

Free Testosterone: 460 pmol / L (170 - 500)

the numbers in those brackets are the "revised reference range for testosterone as from 07/12/2009".

I will be seeing my doctor about these results but can some of the experienced ppl on here provide me with a bit more clarity on this please?

Cheers,

I would kill for those levels!!

Especially your free test...

You can lower your SHBG by lowering your oestrogen by using stinging nettle root and DIM-plus.

This will in increase your free tetsosterone even more due to it not binding to SHBG.

To give you an idea of me my results are

Total test 7.8
Free test 25.2
SHBG is 17

were these results first thing in the morning? Lucky you got FAI done most path labs wont do it only for women as they are a bunch of ****ing morons..

thanks man.. what unit of measurement were urs in?

My blood sample was taken at 9:00am - 9:30am about 2 hours after I woke up and had my first meal. So I guess it would have been at a high point of the day

I'm already using Zinc. I think i'll also add in Nettle Root as well as Dim. I've also heard a lot about Icariin. I'll have to consult Fadi on that though.

cheers

zinc should be of good quality add 100mg a day..

Metagenics ect have a good liquid zinc.

Zinc helps combat aromatase the enzyme that converts testosterone to oestrogen in fat cells.

Vitamin C also helps with this 4000mg a day i would suggest if you do not have iron problems.

Hi, I'll post my Test results from 2 weeks ago, keep in mind I'm 43 y/old.

Total Testosterone: 21.9 nmol/L ref range 8.3 - 30.2

SHBG : 28 nmol/L ref range 13 - 71

Free Testosterone : 524 nmol/L ref range 225 - 725

The ref range is derived from morning samples of health males < 35 yrs old.

Looks ok to me, what do you think?

Mike.

Hi all,

Should most ppl be getting this test
done? That is to see if everything is
OK with 'us'??? (if any other
supplement should be taken to balance
if there are any deficiencies??)

What is this test called? and how
much?

Thanks
Devante.

it should be bulk billed on medicare mate.
Ask the doctor for a blood test for testosterone levels. That's all i did.

It's a good idea that ppl get it done. Testosterone is the key hormone in our body for increasing muscle size / volume amongst it's other effects such as aggression and so on.

Testosterone itself can lower SHBG
